User Behavior
What are users swapping for? What activities are the most common for users on Flow right now? Create a visualization on what’s causing spikes in swapping behavior.
Introduction and methods
Flow blockchain is a fast, decentralised, developer-friendly PoS-based blockchain from NFT pioneer Dapper Labs that aims to provide high scalability to the next generation of Dapps without the use of complex scaling techniques such as fragmentation.
Flow applies the pipelining technique by separating the jobs of a validator node into four different roles: collection, consensus, execution and verification. For each role, a minimum participation deposit is required from each of the participating nodes. All these nodes work in parallel to perform their required actions. Each validating node still participates in the validation of each transaction, but does so only in one of the validation stages.
In this dashboard we are gonna track the most common tokens Flow users are swapping for. As well, we will analyze the most common activities done for users on Flow.
As it can be seen in the first donuts, the most common tokens swapped for have been USDT with almost 50% of the swaps followed by FLOW and FUSD with 30% and 18% of the swaps respectively.
If we take a look at the swaps from tokens, the rank is the same. In fact, if we take a look at the last chart, we can see the inflows and outflows of each token swapped. In this case, from these top 3 tokens, it can be clearly seen how the stablecoins have positive netflows while FLOW have negative netflows. Then, we can say that the stablecoins are being acquired while the other tokens seems to be sold in general.
Another tokens swapped but with a less repercution are Starly, Blocto, Fiat tokens and REVV.
Regarding the number of users who are swapping the tokens, in this case the ranks are different. While USDT remained as the leader, it has increased its difference against the rest of the tokens. The second place is for FLOW followed by Fiat tokens. The FUSD has lost places on the rank.
In this case, USDT and FLOW have positive netflows while the rest of the tokens have negative netflows of users.
The most common type of swaps are basically the Flow swap pairs and the FUSD and USDT swap pairs, with 58% and 38% of the swaps respectively. On the other hand, the most important events used are the tokens derived events like deposits, withdrawals and fees, as well as the general deposits and withdrawals. In this case, the deposits dominate againsts withdrawals having 6.5% and 3.3% of the total swaps respectivelly.
In these final animated chart, we can see the evolution of the top Flow swap activity in terms of types of swap and types of event swaps over time.
Conclusion and key inisights
In this dashboard we have analyzed the Flow blockchain swaps in several terms. The key inisghts extracted from the analysis are:
- USDT, FLOW and FUSD are the most popular tokens in terms not only of swapped for but also of swapped from. While the stablecoins have positive netflow, FLOW has negative netflow.
- In terms of swappers, the most used tokens are USDT and FLOW, bot with positive netflows.
- The most common type of swaps are basically the Flow swap pairs and the FUSD and USDT swap pairs.
- The most important events used are the tokens derived events like deposits, withdrawals and fees, as well as the general deposits and withdrawals.
