Try Quests to earn FLOWVolume Scoring with NBA Top Shot
In this dashboard we are try to find how many unique wallets have made a trade on Top Shot over that timeframe and how do those metrics compare to sales volume and unique users of Magic Eden on Solana and OpenSea on Ethereum.
Introduction and methods
NBA Top Shot is one of the main FLOW NFT collections that allows users to buy, sell, and collect NBA NFTs that showcase influential “Moments” minted on the FLOW blockchain.
In this dashboard we are gonna track the total sales volume traded on NBA Top Shot since May 9th by day. On the other hand, we are gonna calculate how many unique wallets have made a trade on Top Shot over that timeframe and how do those metrics compare to sales volume and unique users of Magic Eden on Solana and OpenSea on Ethereum.
In terms of sales and sellers, the daily performance looks similar from the beginning until the end. The activity seems to remain equal over time with around 60k sales and 8k daily sellers. Currently more than 1.9M of sales have been executed and more than 225k wallets sold some NFT.
In terms of volume, the results are different. In this case, while the volume looks to have a lower limit on around 4M, it seems like the major of the days are constant on 5M. However, during May 24th and 25th, the volume spiked to more than 20M during this two days. The current volume of sales exceeded the 200M!
If we compare the metrics against Magic Eden and Opensea, we can see how number of sales are higher for NBA Top Shot collection with a great difference from the others. While NBA Top Shot has more than 60k daily sales, the Opensea has around 10k and Magic Eden less than 1k. On the other hand, the numbers of NBA Top Shot sellers and Opensea sellers look similar and the evolution too. The Magic Eden numbers are lower in this case as well.
Conclusion
In this dashboard we have analyzed the NBA Top Shot collection on Flow Network. The main results and insights extracted from that are:
- The activity on the NFT project remained constant over time, without decreasing the metrics' numbers
- There was an spike on the volume of sales during 24th and 25th of May
- The number of sales are extremelly higher than in Magic Eden or Opensea
- The number of daily sellers looks similar to the Opensea sellers.
