Transactions by Protocol

Q115. Using the following App ID lists from Folks Finance, AlgoFi, Tinyman, and AlgoDex, lets look at what percent of transactions their app calls and associated transactions(transactions in the same tx_group_id) make up on the Algorand blockchain.

    \n

in this post we are going to find out:

    1. How have the number of transactions changed over time for each Protocol?
    2. how much in fees have been spent on transactions relating to each protocol?

Here we want to check on the Algorand and see how the number of transactions in “Folks”, “AlogFi”, “AlgoDEX” and “Tinyman” has changed in over time and how did these changes affected the price of ALGO in over time. and then we will see how much fees spent for these transactions for each protocol in the same period.

Down here in this graph that is showing the Price of ALGO since the beginning of 2022 you can see that there is a jump in price on 14th Jan for one day with more than 2.3 price and after that this price fall to 1.84 and in over time it is decreasing.

Now let’s check the price with total number of transactions for each protocol in over time and see how this two affected each other in over time.

Down here you can see a graph that is showing the total number of transactions since the beginning of 2022 for each protocol. as you can see more than 70% of these transactions happened on “Tinyman” with more than 32M transactions and 25% of them happened on “AlgoFi”.

Now let’s check the ALGO price with these transactions for each day. if we look at the first graph (ALGO price) and compare it to the bottom graph we can see that in over time whenever total transactions in each protocols are decreased, ALGO price started to decrease too.

you can see it in “Tinyman” transactions better because it had so much total transactions in the first months but it is decreasing month after month. in the first days it had more than 250k total transactions but in the recent days we can see this number is less than 80k per day.

And here we can see the same result but this time for two other protocols. you can see that “AlgoDEX” have many transactions in the first days and “Folks” have nothing until April. in over time these numbers for both protocols started to fall. in the first days, “AlgoDEX” has more than 10k transactions at least but now it has less than 1k total transactions per day.

Now that we checked on the Algo price and its relation with total transactions for each protocol, let’s check on the fee spent for these transactions in these protocols.

Down here you can see the total fee spent in each protocol since the beginning of 2022 until now. also you should now that these values are in ALGO.

the highest amount of fee spent on AlgoFi with more than 85% of all fees for these four protocols.

If we look at the graph in down below, we can see that fee spent on these two protocols in the first months are higher than the recent days and we saw the same thing for the ALGO price in the first chart and that means by decreasing in the price of ALGO, fee spent for these transactions also decreased in over time.

in the first days of Mar 2022 we can see more than 1k ALGO paid for fees in one day on average but in the recent days less than 800 ALGOs paid for that.

And down here we can see the same result but this time for two other protocols (Folks, AlgoDEX).

you can see like the above graph, fee spent for these transactions in these two protocols have the same result and they are also decreasing in over time just like the price of ALGO.

in the first days, more than 10 ALGOs paid for the fee for each day but now we can see the amount of spent fee is lower than even 1 ALGO.

So we did checked on the Algorand and we saw how the number of transactions in four protocols has changed in over time and how did these changes affected the price of ALGO in over time.

And down here is the graph that is showing the percentage of associated transactions in application calls for each day in comparing these four protocols.

you can see that “Tinyman” have the highest percentage in this graph in compare to the other protocols and after that we can see “AlgoFi”.
