Anchor Protocol Overview

Anchor is a savings protocol offering low-volatile yields on Terra stablecoin deposits. The Anchor rate is powered by a diversified stream of staking rewards from major proof-of-stake blockchains, and therefore can be expected to be much more stable than money market interest rates.

The Anchor protocol defines a money market between a lender, looking to earn stable yields on their stablecoins, and a borrower, looking to borrow stablecoins on stakeable assets. To borrow stablecoins, the borrower locks up Bonded Assets (bAssets) as collateral, and borrows stablecoins below the protocol-defined LTV ratio.

Methodology

Considering the top two activities that take place on Anchor Protocol are depositing and borrowing, we will be analyzing the top users by the amount of UST they have deposited in the past.

Additional Info -

Small Fry - Any user with deposits less than 100k UST
Whale - Any user with deposits greater than 100k UST

Analysis

The first chart highlights how the top depositors on Anchor match up with the rest of the depositors based on the amount of UST they have deposited in the past 6 months.

It is interesting to see this pie chart almost split in half. This means that the top 10 depositors are depositing as much UST as the rest of all depositors on Anchor in the past 6 months.

Lastly, user terra1l72xv27ez68v0swe9ha29txxgcple89dugyhre has deposited 7285476241.049 UST in the past 6 months, and hence is crowned the top depositor on Anchor(*this does not take withdrawals into account)

Chart 2 looks at daily deposits by user < 100k over the past 6 months.

We can see a steady rise in total daily deposits.

Similarly, in chart 3 we look at total daily deposits by user > 100k over the past 6 months.

Again, we see a steady increase in deposits over the past 6 months.

December 21'st had a whopping 650M deposited on that day.
