Introduction
NBA Top Shot is a new kind of collectible in an open digital always-on world and NFT marketplace. It enables users to buy, sell, and collect licensed NFTs of NBA highlights called moments. In essence, the NBA Top shots platform is a collection of historical NBA moments that can be bought, sold and traded as digital collectibles called Moments.
Whether it's Vince Carter's final career shot in 2020 or another unforgettable basketball moment, each Top Shot Moment embodies the character and passion of your favorite NBA players.
In this article, we will do analysis on NBA Top Shots moments and try to uncover any correlations between a specific category and sales volume, especially focusing on the Play_type column available in the flow.core.dim_topshot_metadata table, providing insights on what play types does users hold the most and how much sales volume does each of these play_type gerenrates etc.. with supporting visuals.

Methodology
For this analysis, we will retrieve the NBA Top shot NFT Sales transactions details such as total sales volume or revenue generated, total number of sales, total number of distinct wallets purchased NFTs according to each of the Play types, by joining 2 tables flow.core.dim_topshot_metadata & flow.core.fact_nft_sales based on nft_id column with marketplace as 'A.c1e4f4f4c4257510.Market' or 'A.c1e4f4f4c4257510.TopShotMarketV3' and nft_collection as ‘A.0b2a3299cc857e29.TopShot’.
Here is the visual that shows the Total sales volume generated for each of the Play types across NBA Top Shots collections.
Looking at this graph, we can see that highest volume in terms of sales has been observed for Play type “Rim”with volume as 3.01M, followed by “3 Pointer” in the second place.
The below chart shows the daily trend of Total sales volume or revenue of NBA top shot NFT collections generated by play types such as Rim, 3 Pointer, 2 Pointer etc.. over time.
It is clear that the play type “RIM” grabs most of the sales volume when observed on a daily basis.
The below bar graph represents the total number of users who holds the NBA Top shot NFTs by Play types over the past few months and can observe that most of the users or wallets are holding play types such Rim, Assist, 3 Pointer etc..
If we look at this closely, a maximum number of users holds the NBA Top Shot NFTs of play type “Rim”, with a count of 17.69K.
Here is the visual that shows the daily trend of total number of users who holds NFTs of different play types and could notice that most of the users are holding NBA top shot NFTs of play type ”Rim” comparatively, followed by “Assist” in the next line.
