Introduction

Flow is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain that went live in 2019 after the founders of Dapper labs got fed up with the slow and expensive state of Ethereum blockchain with Crypto Kitties and NBA Topshots soaring in popularity. The main advantage of Flow chain is its fast, low cast transactions supporting smart contracts.

Let us analyze NFT activity of NFL All Day collection in the Flow ecosystem over the past week and compare it to the activity over the past year, identifying if there any boost up in popularity, listing any interesting metrics, notes or trends or outliers noticed (if any) with supporting graphs or visuals.

What are NFTs ?

NFTs stands for Non-fungible tokens, where in Non-fungible can be defined as something that cannot be exchanged for another item because its unique. For example, one piece of Art is not equal to another as both will have unique properties.

Basically, NFTs are tokens that lives or survives on a blockchain and represent ownership of unique items. These NFT tokens in general will contain bit of information specific to it, such as unique token name, symbol etc.. and will be owned by the creator or artist of that token. These NFT tokens will be sold by performing sell & buy transactions on the particular blockchain.

Methodology

As part of this analysis, we will first look at the flow.core.ez_nft_sales table to analyze the overall and daily trend of NFT sales activity of NFL ALL DAY collection before and after Thanks giving day i.e. 24th Nov 2022, assessed in terms of various interesting metrics.

We will retrieve the sales details of these NFT Collections by joining nft_collection column of flow.core.ez_nft_sales table with event_contract column of flow.core.dim_contract_labels table..

Findings

• When we look at daily basis, there has been a significant raise in the total sales volume of NFL All Day Collection NFTs, especially in the three consecutive days after Thanks giving day i.e. 24th Nov 2022.

• Also, there seems to be a sudden raise in the total number of NFL All day NFT sales since Thanks giving day and till end of Nov 2022, when compared to the NFT sales trend over the past year.

Observations

If we closely look at the above visuals depicting weekly trends of Total / Average Sales volume, it is evident that Total Sales volume has drastically raised in the couple of weeks after Thanks giving day week.

Also, we could observe a slight spike in the total number of sales for NFL All day Collection in the week of Thanks giving day, as well as in its consecutive week.

Observations

• Total Sales volume of NFL All Day NFTs prior to Thanks giving day seems to 71.14M, where as Sales volume recorded after Thanks giving day appears to be 1.5%.

• Total number of unique buyers who have purchased NFTs comes around 90.2% prior to Thanks giving day, compared to the unique buyers who bought NFTs after Thanks giving day i.e. 24th Nov 2022.

Conclusion

According to these graphs or visuals, we can see that there has been a sudden raise in the sales volume and total number of unique buyers count in a day after the Thanks giving i.e. 24th Nov 2022.

However, highest average sales volume 27.34 of NFL All day NFTs have been observed on 1st Dec 2022 and maximum number of unique buyers has been recorded on 25th Nov 2022 ( a day after Thanks giving).

Also, Total number of NFL All day NFT sales has been raised significantly on or after a day of Thanks giving day.
