Polygon Fees
In this dashboard, we will compare the daily fees on Polygon since June 1, 2021 and compare these to the daily fees on Ethereum over the same time period. Also, let us identify whether are both are correlated or any similarities exists.
Polygon is a protocol and a framework for building and connecting Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks, enabling certain features such as
- One-click deployment of preset blockchain networks
- Growing set of modules for developing custom networks
- Interoperability protocol for exchanging arbitrary messages with blockchain networks
- Modular and optional saying “security as a service”
- Adaptor modules for enabling interoperability for existing blockchain networks
Polygon solves most of the drawbacks associated with Blockchains, like high gas fees and slow speeds, without sacrificing on security.
MATIC is an ERC-20 token native to the Polygon Network that serves multiple purposes, including paying for transaction fees, staking, and governance. This MATIC token is used to pay gas fees on Polygon and Polygon's gas fees are thousands of times smaller than those compared to Ethereum. Polygon's speed and low cost have made it a popular alternative to Ethereum, especially since many of Ethereum's most popular dApps have been migrating to Polygon.
The below graph depicts how daily transaction fees (in USD) changes on Polygon network over the past 3 months, effective June 1, 2021.
Here is the graphical curve which shows the daily transaction fees (in USD) changes on Ethereum network over the past 3 months, effective June 1, 2021.
On the other hand, Ethereum Transaction Fees measures the average fee in USD when an Ethereum transaction is processed by a miner and confirmed.
Average Ethereum transaction fees can spike during periods of congestion on the network and Average ETH Transaction Fee is at a current level of 3.083, down from 5.612 yesterday
Observation:
On comparing transaction fees on Polygon and Ethereum networks effective June 1, 2021, it is clear that daily fee on Polygon network has recorded high on September 2021, where as Ethereum network has got the highest daily fee on around second week of May 2021 and both these fees follow different patterns on these networks.
