Bridge Users (Hop Protocol)

HOP Protocol is a dApp that allows users to bridge assets across Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) solutions as well as sidechains like Polygon, Gnosis, Optimism and Arbitrum. In this dashboard, we will take a look some of the important metrics on Hop Protocol usage in the past 6 months which means we will focus this analysis on usage for year 2022 YTD.

First, let's take a look at daily volume of token bridged to L2s in 2022. We can see that USDC takes up most of the volume bridged from Eth mainnet to Layer-2 blockchains with almost 166M USDC bridged (77.7%) followed by DAI with 24M (11.1%).

Now, let's take a look at daily bridged volume. Highest daily volume in year 2022 was on January 20th followed by on June 1st. Both of days sees a total volume of over 8M bridged in a day. On both day, most of the tokens bridged are ETH.

Transaction count and number of unique users bridging through Hop Protocol is the highest on June 1st. The reason for the sudden spike in users and transaction could be due to the airdrop rumours for Hop Protocol governance token.

If we take a look at transaction counts by tokens bridge, we can see that most of the daily bridging transactions involves $ETH eventhough the highest volume is $USDC.

In conclusion, USDC was bridged the most by volume but ETH was bridged the most by transaction count. Highest daily activity of bridge volume was on June 1st; most likely due to the $HOP governance token airdrop.
