First, let's take a look at how many new validators that received their first delegation (or redelegation - redelegate transaction included because I believe many prefer to redelegate instead of undelegate) in the past 60 days.

I have three hypotheses why some validators suddenly gain tractions,

1. Protocols who announced extra airdrop. Validators like Orion.Money, Talis Protocol, Terra World, Angel Protocol, Neptune Finance etc are protocols on TeFi but they also run validator node. When they announced that those who delegated to them will get extra airdrops, this causes a lot of people to delegate/redelegate because who does not like free tokens.

2. Commission percentage change. Most validators started at very low or 0 commission but they gradually increase the commission. I am not aware as to why they need to increase the commission because I thought running validator nodes is quite profitable. But maybe because of the overhead costs to run validator node.

3. When one particular validator having too much voting power. Yesterday, Do Kwon announced that he will submit a proposal to stop distributing $ANC weekly airdrops to delegators who staked on top 10 validators so this causes to delegators to redelegate to other validators outside of top 10.
