THORChain Same-Chain Swaps

    THORChain is a very special blockchain as it enables native swaps between different chains. How it works was Asset A from blockchain X will first be swapped to native $RUNE on THORChain and that particular $RUNE will then be swapped to Asset B on blockchain Y. In this dashboard, we will take a look at the distribution of swaps between same blockchain vs different blockchain that happen on THORSwap for the past 30 days.

    There will be three types of transactions;

    1. One sided swap, which is swaps from any asset to native $RUNE or vice versa. This transaction will be have only one transaction.
    2. Same blockchain is swap between two different asset from similar blockchain such as BNB.BNB to BNB.BUSD which is a transaction from BEP2 BNB to BEP2 BUSD. This transaction requires two transaction which means BNB.BNB to THOR.RUNE to BNB.BUSD.
    3. Different blockchain is swap between asset A on blockchain X to asset B on blockchain Y. For example, ETH.ETH to BTC.BTC will have two transaction from native ETH to native $RUNE then from $RUNE to native BTC.

    The transaction type distribution differs day by day. Before the shutdown, most of the transactions are within same blockchain, but few days after THORChain went back online, we can see that single swap transactions increases. This could be because people swapping their $RUNE to other assets.
