Inflows and Outflows (redux)
📑Introduction
Ethereum is an open source, distributed software platform based on blockchain technology.
Optimism is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. It helps reduce the transaction fee and transaction time on the Ethereum blockchain. Broadly speaking, Optimism helps solve Ethereum’s scalability dilemma. Scalability refers to the rate of transactions per second (TPS) on a blockchain network
As everyone knows, a blockchain bridge is a protocol connecting two blockchains to enable interactions between them. The most important benefit of blockchain bridges is the ability to improve interoperability. They enable the exchange of tokens, assets, and data across different blockchains, whether between layer one and layer two protocols or various sidechains.
> In this dashboard, we answered the following questions:
What is the volume of ETH and three stablecoins of your choice that's moved between the Optimism network and the Ethereum network across the bridge?
How has that changed over time? Note any interesting trends or outliers that you see.

📑Conclusion
- The results of this dashboard showed that the volume of ETH bridged from Ethereum to Optimism is more than the volume of ETH bridged from Optimism to Ethereum. Also, the monthly changes showed that, except for March 2022, in other months, the transfer volume from ETH-->OP was more than OP-->ETH. Also, the weekly changes in the bridged volume of ETH showed that since the end of 2021, the weekly volume of bridged ETH has increased from Optimism to Ethereum in comparison to Sebel, and also in March 2022, the weekly values of OP-->ETH became more than ETH-->OP.
- Further, the results showed that the largest volume of stablecoin bridged from Ethereum to Optimism belongs to USDC, and compared to USDT and DAI, USDT has been bridged more than DAI from Ethereum to Optimism. Also, the largest volume bridged from Optimism to Ethereum is related to USDC. But the DAI bridged volume from OP to ETH is more than USDT. Also, the results showed that only in the months of December 2021 and February 2022 the volume of bridged stablecoins was greater than OP-->ETH. But in other months, the bridged volume of stablecoins has been more than ETH-->OP.
- The results showed that on a weekly basis, most of the bridged volume from ETH-->OP is related to USDC, and from July 2022 onwards, we saw an increase in the bridged volume of USDT from Ethereum to optimism. Also, the weekly changes of bridged stablecoins from optimism to Ethereum showed that in most weeks, the most bridged volume was related to DAI. In the last months of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, the volume of bridged USDC was higher than DAI in most weeks. Also, in some weeks of August 2022 and the first week of September 2022, the volume of bridged USDC was higher than DAI. The noteworthy point is the volume of 45 million USD bridged from Optimism to Ethereum. Also, this chart showed that although the bridged volume of DAI was more than USDC in most weeks, in general, the bridged volume of USDC from Optimism to Ethereum is more than DAI. Also, in the last five months, the volume of USDT bridged from OP to ETH has increased more than before.

ETH Transfers
Stablecoin transfers
The amount of ETH bridged from Ethereum to op is more than the amount of ETH bridged from OP to Ethereum.
Also, the monthly changes of ETH bridged show that in most months, ETH-->OP was more than OP-->ETH. Only in March 2022 the volume of OP-->ETH was more than ETH-->OP.
The weekly chart of the area shows that since November 2021, the weekly values of OP-->ETH have increased, and in the weeks of March 2022, the values of OP-->ETH have become more than ETH-->OP. Also, this chart shows that in June 2022, the weekly values of OP-->ETH have increased compared to other months. In the last three months, the value of OP-->ETH has been very low and has increased against ETH-->OP.
We examined the transfers of 3 stablecoins DAI, USDC, and USDT. The volume of stablecoins bridged from ETH-->OP is more than OP-->ETH. Among the stablecoins transferred from Ethereum to Optimism, USDC had the largest transfer volume. After USDC, the volume of USDT is higher than DAI. But comparing the amount of stablecoin transferred from OP-->ETH, the largest volume is related to USDC. But the volume of DAI bridged from OP-->ETH is more than the volume of USDT.
As a result, the most stablecoin transferred from ETH-->OP and OP-->ETH is USDC.
The graph of the monthly changes of the bridged stablecoin between Ethereum and OP networks shows that only in the months of December 2021 and February 2022 the volume of bridged stablecoins was greater than OP-->ETH. But in other months, the bridged volume of stablecoins has been more than ETH-->OP.
-
The graph of the weekly changes in the bridged volume of stablecoins from ETH-->OP shows that in most weeks, USDC had the largest transfer volume. The noteworthy point is the increase in the bridged volume of USDT from July onwards. Also, very small amounts of DAI have been bridged from Ethereum to OP.
-
But on the other hand, the graph "OP-->ETH Weekly changes: Stablecoins bridged volume ($USD)" shows that in most weeks, the volume of DAI bridged from OP to Ethereum was very high and was more than the other two stablecoins. Of note is the transfer of $45 million USDC from OP to Ethereum at the beginning of September. Amounts of USDT bridged from OP to ETH have been low. In the last months of 2021 and the first month of 2022, the bridged volume of USDC was high. But from March onwards, as you can see in the chart, DAI's bridged volume has been higher in most weeks. And during this period, in late August and early September 2022, large amounts of USDC were bridged from OP to ETH.
