Introduction

In this dashboard, we'll look at a number of different metrics for the ParaSwap protocol. This protocol is a DeFi aggregator on Ethereum that finds the best exchange rates across a number of decentralized exchanges such as Curve, Uniswap, Sushiswap etc. We'll look at the total volume since 2022, monthly swap volume and total volume by DEX.

Methodology

1. find all Paraswap transactions using the ethereum_core.fact_event_logs table using thethe contract address of ParaSwap: 0xDEF171Fe48CF0115B1d80b88dc8eAB59176FEe57. This is the contract address for the Paraswap v5 Augustus Swapper.
2. using the tx_hash find the swap amount, pool name and platform for each ParaSwap transaction in the table ethereum_core.ez_dex_swaps.
3. sum over the swap amount to get the total volume since 2022
4. sum over the swap amount and group by month to get the monthly swap volume since 2022
5. sum over the swap amount and group by platform to get the total volume per dex since 2022

Results

Key findings

• the total swap volume on Paraswap since 2022 is about $625M
• January saw the highest monthly swap volume since 2022 with about $275M
• Sushiswap has the highest total volume by dex with about $350M
