Gross volumes are considerably lower, especially when we look at ETH. Value that is bridged to Polygon is rarely returning to the mother chain.

Unlike above, the following chart of tokens bridged back to ethereum represents ETH in USD. This was done because the amount of ETH sent back over the bridge is incredibly small. However, as pointed out in the discord, this may be an error.

USDC again reigns supreme

Polygon stepped into the spotlight over the summer as ETH gas fees continued to roar on. 4 months ago, ETH and Stablecoin bridge volume rapidly picked up with stables nearly hitting 3bn in weekly bridge volume in early July.

Of the major Ethereum-based stablecoins, USDC is the king of Polygon. This is possible in part due to the skepticism surrounding Tether and the news that mounted over the summer.
