Swap Profile In May & June

    Introduction

I like informative contents and making such contents satisfies me! So, Today I am going to inform you about Algorand ecosystem users who have swapped in one or another DEX in May and June. Stay with me if this interests you!

    Methodology

Things I am going to show you in this dashboard:

    • How many swapper each DEX had?
    • What assets they are holding and what is their average ALGO balance?
    • How many daily swaps did they perform?
    • When they were created?
    • What type of transaction they were also performing?
    • What was the top 10 assets that they were selling and buying?

I hope finding out about these stuff helps you to better understand what is going on in Algorand and also helps you to make a better informed decision.

    Data & Analysis

Since we are getting our source base for wallet addresses from those users who had swapped on DEXs, it makes sense to start with how many swappers each DEX had.

    • It is not surprising that TinyMan has the most unique wallets since it’s the oldest and biggest DEX on Algorand in terms of TVL.
    • AlgoFi is a financial beast! I hope it takes over TinyMan someday but right now TinyMan has 4x Unique Users.

Now getting to the swappers themselves, Lets see what assets do they have in common in their wallets?

P.S: There are so many fake or useless assets in Algorand that excluding them is very hard. I chose to only account for top 20 assets with most transactions to overcome this obstacle.

This is excluding ALGO. For ALGO I Checked the average balance of these wallets and you can the result below:

Next Chart Shows how many transaction these wallets done on a daily basis and the top days are by far the terra collapse days on May 11th and 12th.

Getting more detailed in these Swappers Profile, I wanted to see what type of transactions they did the most?

transaction types are not so specific but they do demonstrate some interesting information can be investigated more thoroughly.

For example, We can see that beside from application call (which include all kind of transactions like swapping, staking, etc), transfers are the post repeated transaction.

Now we can see what assets these wallets were transferring in their active time period

Another interesting point about these wallets is to see when they were created? are they OGs or fairly new users that are getting comfortable with network (Or maybe both)?

I used the first transaction timestamp as the criteria for creation date and here is the result:

    • #1 month is Nov 2021 with more than 3200 wallets which shows a lot of users that joined many months ago are still around actively which is a good news.
    • May 2022 is the second month suggesting a lot of active users are entering ecosystem which is another good news.

In the end I want to show you top assets that these wallets were swapping in & out in these 2 months.

    • Except for PLANET all assets are identical in both charts, suggesting that PLANET was more selling than buying significantly.
    • Buying transactions were more than selling transaction for these top 10 assets which may be a sign of accumulation when price is ranging after a sharp decrease.
