Methodology

1. Get the weekly Polygon and Harmony Transaction Count.
2. Calculate the average transaction fee.
3. Count the number of unique users on both platforms.
4. Calculate the transaction per hour when comparing Harmony and Polygon.

Since 2021, this graph compares the weekly unique user count of Polygon with Harmony.

We can plainly observe that in late November-2021, the unique user count of Harmony increased by more than three times when compared to Polygon, and that after April 2022, the unique user count of both platforms was about comparable at around 700k - 900k each week.

The graphs show the weekly transaction count and the cumulative weekly transaction count. Polygon transaction count has climbed dramatically from May-2021 and is about comparable to Harmony's around December-2022.

Conclusion

Since 2021, this graph depicts the weekly transaction count and average charge for the Polygon.

The weekly average transaction fees linger around 0.005 MATIC in early 2021 before rapidly increasing to more than 0.015 or more than treble by April 2022.

On the other side, transaction count has significantly increased from 2 million per week in May-2021 to more than 40 million per week in the following month of June-2021, before declining to less than 15 million per week in May-2022.

Average number of transactions per hour

The graphs show the average number of transactions per hour for both chains. We can see that Polygon has a greater average transaction rate of 137k transactions per hour, or 61.2 percent, than Harmony, which has a 86k transaction per hour or 38.8 percent.

• For Polygon, weekly average transaction fees will hover around 0.005 MATIC in early 2021 before skyrocketing to more than 0.015, or more than quadruple, by April 2022.

• Transaction volume has climbed dramatically from 2 million per week in May-2021 to before falling in May-2022.

• When compared to Polygon, Harmony's unique user count surged by more than threefold in late November-2021.
