What is Flow?

Flow is a blockchain platform that originally was designed for gaming purposes, but has expanded since its launch in 2020. The flow blockchain enables fast, low-cost transactions and supports smart contracts. It powers blockchain applications including NBA Top Shot, a non-fungible token (NFT) offering.

Method

First, I found contracts after May 9th in flow.core.fact_events table. Then joined to flow.core.dim_contract_labels to reach contracts name. The question asked about the top 10 most popular contracts. So I filtered the top 10 based on the total number of use.

In the below chart, You can see the top 10 popular contracts on Flow since May 9th. The FlowFees and FlowToken contract with 8.9M are the most popular contracts on Flow. The third popular contract is LNVCT with 2.3M.

The below chart shows the share of the top 10 popular contracts based on the total used. FlowFees and FlowToken with 35.2% are the most popular contracts on Flow. These two contracts have almost 70% percent of the share from the total number used.

We already examined popular contracts on Flow and found the top 10 most popular contracts on Flow. Now it's time to see what each contract is used for. FlowToken which was the most popular contract on FLow is used for tokens deposit and Token Withdraws. FlowFees which also was in the first place is used for FeesDeducted and tokens deposit. The third one which was LNVCT is used for Deposit and Withdraw.

Let's find out in what contracts we can see trending. TenantService contract was popular on May 16th but I can't see any use on other days. TopShot became trends on May 21st and May 22nd. Topshot usage Reached 633K and 933K on May 21st and May 22nd but after that time decreased significantly. The Flowfees and FlowToken had trends and keep them until the current Date. The Float contract started. from May 20th but it became to top 10 popular contracts.

Conclusion

From this analysis, I can conclude that FlowToken is the most popular contract among the others. Also, FlowFees is the next popular contract.
