Basenames, What are they?

Basenames are essential onchain identifiers that enable users to establish their identity on Base by registering human-readable names linked to their wallet address(es). Built entirely onchain, they leverage the same technology as ENS names and are deployed on Base. These names can be used when connecting to onchain apps, sending, and receiving transactions on Base, and across other EVM chains.

They are an onchain identity created by and for builders, solving some of the hardest problems that Base builders face every day: finding others to build with, getting access to the best resources, and enabling easy experiences for everyday people who use the apps they build.
