What is IBC?

The other two components being the Tendermint Core and the Cosmos SDK (software development kit).
What is Osmosis

Communication with these other blockchains is achieved via its Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol (IBC). Because Osmosis is linked to other Tendermint blockchains, providing smooth, fast trades.
Introduction
Welcome to the Osmosis Journey Analysis dashboard! In this dashboard, we will be analyzing the typical user journey through Osmosis
First, we will be looking at the most common ways that users enter Osmosis. This will include analyzing the proportion of users who enter Osmosis via the Axelar satellite network, as well as those who enter from other sources.
Next, we will examine the most common asset that is transferred into Osmosis for the first transfer. This will give us a sense of which assets are most popular among Osmosis users, and will help us understand the overall asset composition of the platform.
Once users arrive on Osmosis, they have a few options for how to proceed. Some may choose to swap their initial asset for another one and then transfer it out of the platform. Others may choose to stake OSMO, the native token of the Osmosis platform. Still others may opt to swap their initial asset and then provide liquidity to one of the Osmosis pools. In this dashboard, we will analyze the proportions of users who take each of these actions.
Finally, we will look at the assets that are most commonly swapped for and transferred out, as well as those that are most commonly used for liquidity provision. This will give us a sense of the liquidity dynamics on the Osmosis platform, and will help us understand the most active trading pairs and liquidity pools.
Overall, this dashboard will provide a comprehensive analysis of the typical user journey through Osmosis, and will give you a better understanding of the platform's overall activity and user behavior.
New Osmosis Users

New Osmosis Users by First Action
Analysis
Over 60% of all new users on Osmosis choose to swap as their first activity on the platform, making it the most popular activity among new users. Staking OSMO is the second most popular activity, while providing liquidity on the platform is the least popular. These findings suggest that swapping and staking are popular activities among new Osmosis users, while providing liquidity is less so. The high popularity of swapping suggests that the platform is well-suited for facilitating asset swaps, while the popularity of staking indicates a strong staking ecosystem. The low popularity of providing liquidity could be due to the relative complexity of this activity or the lack of appeal to new users.
New Osmosis Swappers by to Asset
New Osmosis LPs by Pool
Analysis
Among users who are new to swapping on Osmosis, 50.2% choose to swap for OSMO. However, the percentage of users swapping for OSMO in their first trade on Osmosis has been steadily declining over time. In terms of liquidity provision, 74.2% of all first liquidity actions on Osmosis are users depositing into the ATOM/OSMO pool, making it the most popular liquidity pool on the platform, particularly among new liquidity providers. These findings suggest that while OSMO is a popular choice among new users for swapping, its popularity has been declining over time, and the ATOM/OSMO pool is the most popular liquidity pool on Osmosis.
Analysis
The Osmosis platform has a total of 610K wallets, indicating a significant user base and popularity as a destination for asset transfers. There was a large increase in activity on the platform at the start of 2022, suggesting a surge in new users or increased activity from existing ones. ATOM and EVMOS are the most popular chains that users are sending assets to Osmosis from, indicating that these chains are well-represented among Osmosis users and are popular sources of liquidity for the platform. However, the number of transfers from ATOM to Osmosis has been declining over time, though the reason for this decline is unclear. A portion of all transfers to Osmosis are from ATOM and EVMOS, but there is also a diverse mix of assets being transferred to the platform.
