Token Activity
Q3. What do people do with their PSP tokens? Once people acquire PSP tokens what do they do with them? Do they stake them? How long do they hold them for? Show the journey of PSP tokens.
Goal:
In this dashboard, we want to figure out what people do with their $PSP tokens.
As you know, Paraswap, as an aggregator operating on 5 blockchains, on November 15, 2021, distributed its token among its community members
But many did not like the way this distribution was done. Many people who traded on the platform did not include AirDrop, which is why the crypto community began its hostility toward the token.
The price of this token reached $ 4 in the first days of entering the market, but the enmity of people with it eventually made it worse and worse, so that now the price of each token is about 5 cents.
Anyway if you included this airdrop, I hope you sold it in the first few days :)
Solution:
In the first step, I count the number of people who claimed their airdrop each day and compare it to the number of token holders.
If we consider only the people involved in AirDrop and want to measure their behavior with the token, I must say that approximately 13,000 people claimed their tokens in the first 10 days. While the number of holders of this token in that period has never reached 6 thousand.
From this, it can be concluded that more than half of the people sold the token in the first place without even keeping one day in their wallets.
The assumption we made at the beginning is not too far from reality. Given what happened around this airdrop, it is natural for people not to buy and hold its tokens.
In the next chart, I compare the volume of claimed tokens and swapped tokens to each other.
It is normal for the claimed volume to decrease over time. The swap volume, however, has not decreased. Since the number of token holders has not notably changed, we can say that this token has been used by traders to catch fluctuations or the holders are selling some of their tokens.
In the below chart, I show how many days the $PSP is held in the wallet before the first action.
The above chart shows that about 10,000 users used their token without keeping a single day in their wallets.
Also, near 3500 users keep tokens for 1 to 10 days.
The next chart is about how many days takes until there is no $PSP left in a wallet.
As you can see, most of the people after 2 days sold or transfer all of the $PSP tokens. almost none of them couldn't do this in less than 2 days.
It can be concluded that the users who received AirDrop did not sell all of them and hoped for a higher price.
The last thing we look at in this dashboard is what actions have been taken by users with the PSP token.
The first chart shows how many transactions happened in each type and the second chart shows the volume of transactions in each each type.
According to the above charts, swaps transactions are the most popular activities for $PSP holders based on the number of transactions while transfer transactions are the most popular activities for them based on the volume of transactions.
Conclusion:
- About 50% of those who receive $PSP tokens as AirDrop still hold it.
- Most holders only keep this token in their wallet for two days.
- The number of $PSP holders is constantly decreasing over time.
- Swap is the most popular activity based on the number of tx and transfer is the most popular activity based on the volume of transactions.
