Voting Activity

    The Lil Nouns DAO is controlled via onchain voting by token holders. Using the ethereum database, analyze voting activity on Lil Nouns proposals. Since voting is on chain and costs gas, are smaller holders excluded from the voting process? Visualize and analyze this question, along with any other trends you find that are relevant.

    What are Lil Nouns

    Lil Nouns are just like Nouns, but Lil! An expansion DAO based on Nouns DAO, Lil Nouns DAO works to create a new layer within the Nouns ecosystem; Nouns as kids. By expanding the ecosystem, Lil Nouns DAO aims at exposing more people to Nouns.

    Methodology:

    In this dashboard I first look at the weekly votes on particular proposals to see how it changes over time, I then made a pie chart which looks at the percentage of the total votes each proposal got highlighting the most popular proposals. After that I moved onto gas fees and found the daily total gas fee's for a to vote on Lil nouns. I Finally discuss the trends and implications of these metrics.

    Analysis:

    If we look at the first graph we can see that on a weekly basis there is anywhere from 100 to over 800 votes on Lil Nouns proposals. Some proposals tend to get votes over multiple weeks while others only get votes within one week, additionally some proposals like proposal 15 get a lot of votes while others don’t get as many. If we move onto the next metric we can see this breakdown. Proposal 15, 16, and 17 all have the most votes out of any proposal on Lil Nouns DAO. These three proposals are all after one another which likely means they are all related and thus why they have so many votes. These three proposals make up nearly 34% of all votes to all proposals on Lil Nouns dao. If we move onto the gas fees we can see that the gas paid in votes on a daily basis is very minimal, at its largest it is still only fractions of a cent. Thus Smallholders are not excluded from the voting process as the cost to vote is so little.

    Conclusion:

    1. The most popular proposals to vote on, on Lil Nouns DAO are 15, 16, and 17.

    2. The gas fee's daily are only a fraction a cent which means individual gas fee's are also very minimal so smaller holder are not excluded from voting based off the fees.
