When Do Transactions Fail?
Do times of high transaction volume lead to more transaction failures? Create a visualization that shows the relationship between transaction volume and success rate of transactions since May 9th. Are there any noticeable patterns to when transactions are more likely to fail? Were there specific events that seem to cause transaction failures?
Flow is a blockchain designed to function with high scalability without using sharding techniques. With this, users on the blockchain can carry out cheap and fast transactions. The blockchain was designed explicitly for dApps that need a very high scaling like NFT platforms. Crypto play to earn games have also tapped into the usage of the blockchain, providing its users with a swift gaming experience. Dapper Labs created the blockchain after a few issues surrounding congestion on its previous blockchain, Ethereum. The blockchain now hosts an array of crypto games, including the NBA Top Shot, a game that its parent company developed. Developers who intend to create dApps can also tap the blockchain due to its high scalability and swift performance
In this dashboard I am going to be comparing the percentage of successful transactions daily to the volume of transactions daily. I want to do this to see if the success rate of transactions is dictated by the number of transactions on that day. I am also going to look at the total number of successful and non-successful transactions on a daily basis just to get a look at how large the volume of those numbers is.

Daily Total Transactions Vs. Percent Of Successful Transactions

Daily Total Failed vs Successful Transactions
On a day to day basis it seems that when the amount of transactions spike the percent of successful transactions dips and vice versa meaning that there is an inverse relationship between the variables. The percent of successful transactions tends to remains above 90% though on a usual day, and doesn't spike much above that even when the amount of transactions dips. Although since May 24th the Success Rate of transactions has been going down majorly even though the amount of transactions has not changed much at all. Since May 9th the amount of transactions daily have been all over the place with dips below 200k and spikes all the way up to 700k happening quite frequently. If we look at the second metric we can see that for the most part as reflected in the first metric that the amount of successful transactions is much larger than the amount of failed transactions. Although as we can see recently the amount of Failed transactions has become much larger and even overtaken the amount of successful transactions. I would possibly attribute this to the NBA finals as more individuals are interested in the NBA top shots on FLOW but since the amount of transactions hasn't increased in any major capacity over this time I am not sure how accurate this is.

When the amount of transactions increases majorly the percent of successful transactions decreases.

Over the last few days the percent of Successful transactions has been decreasing majorly , and the amount of failed transactions daily has overtaken the amount of successful transactions daily.
