$OP Airdrop (Redux)

The Optimism Foundation’s Airdrop #1 rewards those who have been instrumental as early adopters and active users of projects in the Optimism ecosystem. To celebrate our Ethereum roots, The Optimism Foundation also want to welcome active L1 participants who can help scale Ethereum’s innovations, culture, and values to Layer 2. In total, 248,699 addresses were eligible to claim OP in this initial airdrop.().

Based on some criterias, each eligible user won a defined amount of OP, which you can see here.

In this bounty we were asked to do some analysis about this airdrop and answer to these questions:

How many users claimed optimism airdrop?

How much of total airdrop was claimed?

How many wallets are still holding tokens from airdrop?

How much of users delegated their OPs?

As you can see in the above charts, the highest number of eligible users, claimed their airdrop in the first week of the release. but in recent weeks we still see users who are claiming their airdrops.

Until the day of this report, more than 150 K users had claimed their airdropped OP which was 159.8 M OP in total. In average, each eligible user, claimed 1060 OP.

97.9 K users had not claimed their airdropped OP yet which is 59.04 M OP in total. In average, each eligible user that had not claimed its OP, could claim 602 OP.

    So, in summary:

    eligibleclaimednot claimed
248.6 K count of eligible users150.78 K users claimed airdrop97.91 K users not claimed airdrop
    214.7 M airdropped OP159.84 M claimed OP59.04 M unclaimed OP

In the below table, you can see the top 10 users who claimed the highest volume of OP:

    \

Each of the top 10 users in the above table, claimed 32,431.8 OP.

All of these users, claimed their airdrop in the first date of release, except one of them which claimed its airdrop 30 days after the release date on June 30th.

In the next chart, you can see the number of wallets who hold their airdropped OP vs number of wallets who sold their airdropped OP:

As I said before, more than 150 K users claimed their airdrop token. which 135 K of them sold their airdropped OP. It means about 90% of users who claimed their airdrop, had sold their tokens and only about 10% of users who claimed their airdrop, had not sold their assets yet.

If we add the number of users who has not claimed their tokens(they had not claimed it, so they had not sold it), which is 97.9 K users, to the number of users who had not sold their claimed OP, we reach to ==113.7 K eligible users who had not sold their token yet.==

In the above charts, you can see the daily and total count of wallets that delegated their tokens to another address.

As you can see, in total, more than 139 K users delegated their tokens, while 24% of wallets did not delegated their tokens to another address.

You can also see that the highest number of delegations was in the first 2 days.

During all these days, only in 3 days, number of wallets who did not delegated their tokens was more than number of wallets who delegated their tokens.
