Osmosis Governance: 362 and Beyond
Governance in the Cosmos ecosystem has been a hot topic of late - first with Cosmos Hub 82 and now in Osmosis. Osmosis Prop 362 is a vote to decide the fate of the Osmosis Grants Program (OGP). Contention aside, there have been many points and counterpoints, AND a ton of vote switching.
Intro
In this dashboard, we will see the behavior of users on Osmosis Governance proposal 362 and compare it to other proposals.
At first, we will see the daily and the hourly number of votes, voters, cumulative vote weights, and distribution of votes. then we will see how many voters changed their minds (votes) and at the end, we will see the final result of voting for this proposal. *Voting:
On the OSMOSIS network, users staked OSMO are eligible to vote on governance proposals. *Voting Options:
- Yes: indicates approval of the proposal in its current form.
- Abstain: indicates that the voter is impartial to the outcome of the proposal.
- No: indicates disapproval of the proposal in its current form.
- NoWithVeto: indicates stronger opposition to the proposal than simply voting 'No'. If the number of 'NoWithVeto' votes is greater than a third of the total votes including 'Abstain' votes, the proposal is rejected and the deposits are burned. \n
As you can see in the whole voting period, ‘Yes’ votes are more than other types of votes we also can see a big spike in the number of votes and voters on Nov 15th, 2022.
Osmosis Governance 362 - Hourly
Here we have the hourly number of votes, voters, cumulative vote weights, and distribution of votes.
As you can see that sharp increase in the number of votes and voters started from 5 AM - Nov 15, and lasted for 8 hours (from 5 AM to 7 AM on Average 2k ‘Yes’ votes submitted)
Changed Votes
The following graph shows the number of users that voted for more than one option (changed their vote from one option to another option)
*only 293 voters (1.32%) changed their mind and voted again for different option.

Conclusion
- Most votes were submitted on Nov 15th and the business hours were from 5 AM to 8 AM
- “Yes” was the most voted option on all days and hours of the voting period
- On 3 PM Nov 16th, “No“ votes passed “Abstain“ Votes, and on 6 PM Nov 15th it passed “No with Veto“ (to the second top most votes )
- On 8 PM Nov 17th, “Abstain“ Votes passed “No with Veto“ (to the third top most votes )
- Only 293 voters (1.32%) changed their Vote (Voted for more than one option)
