Polygon Block Performance

What is the average time between blocks on Polygon? What was the maximum and minimum recorded time between two blocks? How many transactions are done in a block on average? How do these numbers compare to L1 such as Flow or Solana, or other L2 such as Arbitrum or Optimism?

    Introduction:

    What is Polygon(Matic)?

Polygon has its own cryptocurrency, called MATIC, which is used to pay fees on the Polygon network, for staking, and for governance (which means that MATIC holders get to vote on changes to Polygon). You can also buy and sell matic via coinbase and other exchanges.

The name MATIC comes from an earlier stage in Polygon’s development. After launching as Matic Network in October 2017, developers rebranded as Polygon early in 2021.

    Methodology:

In this dashboard we going to see at the below metrics:

    1. find Average Number of Transaction done per block on Polygon and Also Compare it with the L1 such as Ethereum and Solana and also compare to L2 such as Optimism and Arbitrum so we need to find the average number of this networks too
    2. Find the Maximum and Minimum Time between two blocks on Polygon
    3. find the Daily Average number of transaction done per block on Polygon and also compare with networks in L2 and L1

    Conclusion:

    1. we got the average time between blocks on polygon and also find the maximum and minimum time between block on polygon
    2. we saw at the average number of transaction done per block on polygon and compare it with Solana, Ethereum and Flow and we got that the number of Transaction per block on Solana is much higher than the polygon and Ethereum
    3. we got the daily average number of transaction in a block on polygon and also compare it with networks in L1 like Ethereum, Solana and Flow and also compare with networks in L2 like Arbitrum and Optimism and we saw that number of transaction on L2 like optimism and arbitrum is 1 transaction per block
