Daily Active User
Intro
Osmosis is Layer-1, Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain built using the Cosmos SDK that has optimized its design to be a sandbox for automated market makers (AMMs). The chain enables developers to design and deploy customized AMMs by using its various modules and leveraging Osmosis' on-chain governance system. Osmosis' native token, OSMO, grants holders the right to vote on proposed network changes and earn rewards for helping secure the network. Its first application, also called Osmosis, is an AMM that features ATOM and OSMO as its initial base trading pairs.
Method
First of all, we define active users using the fact_transaction table of the Osmosis database, so that every wallet that has transacted in Osmosis at least 4 days a week is considered as a daily active user.
Then, by joining different osmosis tables, such as fact_swaps, fact_governance_votes, fact_transfers, and fact_liquidity_provider, we will calculate the activities of active users in general and daily.
Then we will answer the question that in the transfer section, which tokens do these users usually send or receive the most? And what days of the week do they do this and when are they most active?
- Note: All displayed charts and results in this dashboard are for the past 6 months.
As you can see, since the last 6 months until now, the total number of daily users in Osmosis chain is decreasing Also, the number of active users is decreasing with the same slope as the total number of users
The decreasing trend even before the Osmosis network was hacked and unavailable is between the 7th and 12th of June, and this has nothing to do with the downward trend of users. Between July 18 and August 1, the total number of users multiplied and returned to the previous state
In general, in the last 6 months, users have recorded 57.6M transactions in Osmosis. Also, the total number of users in Osmosis in the last 6 months is 389K unique users, of which we recognize 65.8K wallets or users as daily active users.
Transactions of Active Users by Type
> In the charts below, the daily and total number of transactions and active users in Osmosis are displayed based on their type of activity along with their percentage of activity.
As you can see, swap activity had the largest share of active users and this type of activity had the largest number of active users in most days of the last 6 months, the number and percentage Transfer and vote users are very close to each other.
In general, in the last 6 months, Swap had 50.9K active users, which accounted for 33% of the total, and 47.1K users participated in the voting activity, and 46.7K users were for transfer.
and with a short distance, the number of LP users was 35.1K, which is 12.5% of the total.
The number of transactions of active users has been significantly different for swapping, It means that they have registered 6.6M swap transactions in the last 6 months,
this number of transactions accounts for 58% of the total transactions of active users.
Here, the transactions related to votes are in the second place with a small difference, and with 2M transactions, it is almost the same as the number of transfer transactions, which is 1.97M transactions.
And finally, LP transactions make up 951K transactions of the total transactions of active users, which is 8% of the total.
Daily Transactions, Users and Active Users on Osmosis Chain
> In the charts below, you can see the number of transactions and total number of daily users, as well as the daily number of active users
Definition of active user:
> * Those wallets that have made transactions in Osmosis Chain at least ==4 days a week== are considered as active wallets.
In the first section, which is related to the most received tokens, you can see that the aevmos token has the highest number of transfers with 482K transactions.
The transfer of this token by active users has increased a lot since the end of May, but since the middle of September, the transfer and receipt of this token by active users has decreased, but it has always been the most popular token among users and constitutes 31% of all received transactions.
Most tokens transferred
> In this part, you can see the most tokens received to active users of Osmosis and the most tokens sent from active users of Osmosis, which are displayed on a daily basis, as a percentage, and in general, in two sections, transfer in and transfer out.
But in terms of the number of users receiving each token, uatom has the highest number of users with 35.2K and aevmos is second with 23.6K users.
In terms of the number of users, the sent tokens have the same place as the number of transactions, That is, ATOM token is the first with 38.2k active users and a 24% share compared to the rest
JONO token is in second place with 29.7k users and EVMOS is in third place with 20.9k users
In the last 6 months, the most token that was sent was the ATOM token, which has 497K transactions. Atom's share is 34.8% compared to others
The second place is JONO with 245K transactions and 17.2%
Transfer Tokens to Osmosis by Days of Week
> In the following charts, we will examine the issue of which days of the week active users perform the largest number of transfers to osmosis and on which days the number of users is more.
Well, the number of transactions and the number of users on the days of the week show that users are active almost equally on the days of the week
But if we want to check more closely, we must say that Tuesday is the busiest day of active users and in the last 6 months these users had 313K transfer transactions to Osmosis on this day and the total number of users on Saturday is 35K users.
The least active day for active users is Saturday, which records 255K transactions on this day and the activity of 31.9K users on Saturday, this day has the lowest number of transactions and the number of users among the rest of the week.
Well, now this time you can see the top tokens on each day of the week, the aevmos token has the most transactions and the number of uatom users is more than the other tokens on all the days of the week.
