Methodology
To compare between Optimism and Ethereum, we have chosen the SushiSwap DEX
And by using the sushi.ez_swaps table in both networks, we have compared metrics such as the USD swap volume and the average daily swap volume of these two networks.
Also, to calculate the fee amount of each network, by joining the swap table to the fact_transactions table, we have also compared the fee amount and the average fee.
In the next part, by grouping the POOL_NAME column, we have shown in which pools and between which tokens the users have made swap and we have compared these two networks from this point of view.
The difference in swap volume between Ethereum and Optimism is very large. for example, in recent days, the total volume of one-day swaps in Ethereum is 13M USD, while on the same day, the total volume of swaps in Optimism is 13K USD. this means that the total volume of swaps in Ethereum is a thousand times that of Optimism.
The highest volume of daily swaps in Optimism was on June 1, when the volume of swaps on that day was slightly more than half a million USD. while the lowest daily swap volume in Ethereum is not even close to this number.
The volume of swaps in SushiSwap on May 12 was 448M USD, which is a terrible difference even with the total swaps in Optimism.
In general, the total volume of swaps in Ethereum is 6.4B USD, and this number is 1.76M USD for optimism.
In general, the average swap volume in the period under our review was 4K USD for Ethereum and 50 USD for Optimism
The number of daily swaps and the number of active swap users are very different in Ethereum and Optimism
The highest number of swap users in SushiSwap on the Optimism chain was on June 1, which was 415 users, and these users made 1K swap transactions on that day.
The maximum number of users and number of swaps in SushiSwap on Optimism is lower than the minimum number of users and number of swaps in Ethereum.
The total number of unique swap users on Optimism is 5K users, and the total number of swap users on the Ethereum chain is 242.6K users.
Also, the total number of swaps in Optimism is 13.3K swaps, and the total number of swaps in the Ethereum chain is 1.4M swaps.
In the charts above, the fees are in ETH.
As it turns out, the swap fee on Optimism is much cheaper than Ethereum. the highest average daily fee on Optimism was on June 13. on this day, the average swap fee is 0.008 ETH
But the average fee on Optimism is 0.000374 ETH and this number is 0.0095 ETH for Ethereum. this means that the fee on Optimism is about 25 times cheaper than Ethereum
And this issue is one of the most important advantages and the most important difference between these two networks

most swaps done in Optimism were in the WETH-USDC pool.
and the number of swap transactions in this pool was 8.9K
and the largest number of swaps in Ethereum have been done in the USDC-WETH pool
and the number of swaps between these two tokens was 176.9K swaps
The largest volume of USD tokens swapped on SushiSwap on optimism was between WETH-OP And WETH-USDC tokens.
The swap volume was between WETH-OP is more than 1M USD
But the largest volume of swaps on Ethereum was between USDC-WETH tokens and the total volume is about 1.5B USD, which is very different from optimism.
In this section, we have checked the swap volume between tokens
The largest volume of USD tokens swapped on SushiSwap on optimism was between WETH-OP And WETH-USDC tokens.
The swap volume was between WETH-OP is more than 1M USD
But the largest volume of swaps on Ethereum was between USDC-WETH tokens and the total volume is about 1.5B USD, which is very different from optimism.
This part is related to the number of swaps, and as you can see, the most swaps done in Optimism were in the WETH-USDC pool.
and the number of swap transactions in this pool was 8.9K
and the largest number of swaps in Ethereum have been done in the USDC-WETH pool
and the number of swaps between these two tokens was 176.9K swaps

Introduction
What is Sushi?
Sushi is a community-driven organization built to solve what might be called the “liquidity problem.” One could define this problem as the inability of disparate forms of liquidity to connect with markets in a decentralized way, and vice versa. While other solutions provide incrementally progressive advances toward solving the problem of liquidity, Sushi’s progress is intended to create a broader range of network effects. Rather than limiting itself to a single solution, Sushi intertwines many decentralized markets and instruments.
Thus far, the core products, which will be described in more detail here, include: a decentralized exchange, a decentralized lending market, yield instruments, an auction platform, an AMM framework and staking derivatives. Sushi’s products are configured in a way that allows the entire platform to maintain decentralized governance of $SUSHI token holders, while continuing to innovate on the collective foundations by design. Whereas major structural changes are voted on by the community, the day-to-day operations, rebalancing of pools and ratios, business strategy and overall development is ultimately decided on by our core team.
