The Ethereum blockchain has just undergone the most significant upgrade in its history. However, while many market players expected the price of ETH to skyrocket following the Merge, things haven't quite gone as planned.

What lies ahead for the world's second most valuable cryptocurrency?

The Merge: An Industry-Wide Positive Development

The Merge, as previously stated, is the final step in Ethereum's transition to proof-of-stake (PoS). The project has been in the works for at least three years, and the Ethereum Foundation has emphasized its importance to the blockchain.

Because of this change, the Ethereum blockchain is expected to improve on several fronts - including the full implementation of ETH staking and carbon neutrality. According to some estimates, it could help to reduce the blockchain's overall carbon footprint by up to 99.9%. The Ethereum Foundation is also expected to make some upgrades to the blockchain regarding transaction speed, although those upgrades might not come until 2023 or 2024.

The Ethereum blockchain will be better suited to support the thousands of decentralized applications (dApps) running on it as it becomes more scalable. At the same time, many developers who abandoned Ethereum or chose one of the "Ethereum killers" due to scalability issues with the blockchain would be incentivized to return.

This means that the value of ETH should skyrocket - at least in the long run. In fact, there is some talk about ETH eventually flipping Bitcoin (BTC) - the asset that has continued to lead it in terms of market cap. As the Ethereum blockchain grows to enjoy more global dominance, the prospects of ETH overtaking BTC seems more realistic.

    Observations

Min Gap between each blocks did not change before and after Merge in two situation ==Min Gap== is === 0==, but average gap time reduced from ==0.084s== in before Merge to ==0.076s== after Merge also max gap time reduced from ==175s== to ==48s== after Merge. it seems that the production of new blocks is happening faster.

    Observations

on one hand, before Merge the highest number of daily ==transactions== was happened on 9 September with about ==1.055M== on another hand, on day of Merge 15 September, Ethereum had about ==1.2M== transactions. moreover, the highest number of daily transactions after Merge were on ==16,17== September with about ==1.27M==.

in term of number of ==senders==, the greatest number of senders before merge was on 14 September with ==390K== while on day of Merge it increased and reached ==420K==. in addition, after Merge the highest number of daily senders was on 17 September with about ==562K==, but after 17 September Ethereum Network senders have been declining over time.

in term of amount of ==Fee==, the greatest amount of fee before merge was on 8 September with ==2.3K== ETH while on day of Merge it decreased and reached ==2.1K== ETH. in addition, after Merge the highest number of daily senders was on 21 September with about ==1.7K== ETH.

==TPS==: the highest number of daily TPS before Merge was on 14 September with about ==1.77== transactions per second while in the day of Merge it increased and reached to ==2==, and after Merge on 16,17 September TPS was ==2.1== but after those days approximately it was downward trend.

==Successful Transactions==: the highest number of daily successful transactions before Merge was on 14 September with about ==1.07M== while in the day of Merge it increased and reached to ==1.2M==, and after Merge on 16,17 September Successful transactions was ==1.27M== but after those days approximately it was downward trend.

    Full Information

Transactions: Approximately 7.2 million transactions were made before the Merge, while approximately 8 million transactions were recorded after the Merge. in addition, about 1.2 million transactions were made on the day of the Merge.

Senders: Around 1.8 million senders transacted on Ethereum before the Merge, while around 2.1 million senders transacted after the Merge. in addition, about 421,000 transacted senders on the day of the Merge.

Number of blocks: About 41,000 blocks produced before the Merge, while about 50,000 blocks produced after the Merge. in addition, around 6,600 blocks produced on the day of the Merge.

Gas fee: About 12,300 ETH users spent as gas fee before the Merge, while about 9,400 ETH users spent as gas fee after the Merge. Also, around 2,100 ETH users spent as gas fee on the day of the Merge.

TPS: The TPS before the Merge was 11.86 while after the Merge it was 13.15 and the day of the Merge TPS was exactly 2.
