THORName
THORName Shipped. Cross-Chain Wallet Name Service is now live. Let's dive into some interesting insights
What can users do on THORName?
- Register a new name with a registration fee (10 RUNE) + fund fee (number of years registered, 1 Year = 1 RUNE)
- Extend existing names for a funding fee (1 RUNE = 1 Year)
- With a registered name, add a wallet from other chains under the THORName (no additional fund/registration fees required)
At the time of writing, 444 names were registered.
Over 80% of all registered addresses were strings(character).
The majority of names were registered for 1 year. This was followed by 10, 2, and 10 years.
The outliers (< 1.0) were transactions completed in mid-June, presumably when registration was under beta.
After THOR Chain itself, it appears that BTC and ETH address were the most commonly addressed address.
A lot of stuff, short names, numbers.. weird stuff.
There was 1 address that only bought numbers... Why?... I have no idea.
The list of unique names registered is available in the table below for exploration! (so long that it got truncated).
Most of the RUNE spent appeared to be from registration fees. Interestingly, we see the proportion difference in Fund vs Registration fees.
- For users who only registered 1 distinct name, the % of Fund is greater than those with more names registered.
- This suggests that users who register for 1 name tend to register them longer, compared to those who register for multiple, with the intention to flip (likely) it later
The list above shows the names that were registered for the longest duration. The name 'jono' was registered for a total of 50 years and cost the most.
