Methodology

First we will look at the total number of blocks, total number of application calls, average application call per block, total number of days, average number of application calls per day, total number of wallets and average number of application calls per wallet for the first 6 months of 2022 compared to the last 6 months of 2021.

Then we will see the daily number of blocks, daily number of application calls, daily average application call per block, daily number of wallets and daily average number of application calls per wallet along with their 7 day average values.

From the above table, we can see that there is an exponential increase in total number of blocks, total number of application calls as well as total number of wallets in the first half of 2022 compared to the 2nd half of 2021.

Average application call per block and average application call per day have also increased from 6.38 and ~79K to 11.09 and ~207K respectively.

However average application call per wallet has decreased from 7.71 to 4.96.

This is because although the number of application calls have grown exponentially, the growth in the number of wallets has outperformed the growth in the number of application calls.

The above charts show the daily number of blocks, daily number of application calls, daily average application call per block, daily number of wallets and daily average number of application calls per wallet along with their 7 day average values.

The daily number of blocks is more stable whereas in case of daily number of application calls, daily average application call per block, daily number of wallets and daily average number of application calls per wallet, there are few spikes in between.

Summary

• There is an exponential increase in total number of blocks, total number of application calls as well as total number of wallets in the first half of 2022 compared to the 2nd half of 2021.

• Average application call per block and average application call per day have also increased from 6.38 and ~79K to 11.09 and ~207K respectively.

• However average application call per wallet has decreased from 7.71 to 4.96.

• Overall there is more application usage on Algorand in the first half of 2022 compared to the 2nd half of 2021 as well as more number of users.
