Introduction:

• On 21th June 2022, Uniswap Labs announced its acquisition of Genie, the first NFT marketplace aggregator ().
• In the same announcement, they also announced USDC airdrop to historical Genie users
• Following the acquisition, NFT trading officially went live on Uniswap on 30th November 2022 () and the USDC airdrop began claimable.

Methodology:

Airdrop:

• Out of a total of ~15.93K users eligible for ~4.88M USDC, ~7.81K users (48.9%) have claimed ~2.42M USDC (49.6%).

• In the top 1300 USDC tier, 49 of the 58 (84.5%) eligible users have claimed their airdrops.
• The number are 38 out of 61 (62.3%) and ~7.72K out of ~15.81K users (48.8%) for the 1000 USDC and 300 USDC tier respectively.

• The above charts show the number of users and USDC amount claimed by day.
• We can see that the majority of users claimed their airdrops on the 1st day itself.

• The above charts show the activity done by airdrop eligible users on the Uniswap NFT Aggregator marketplace.
• Out of the 15,928 users eligible for an airdrop of ~4.88M USDC, only 249 users have made a purchase on the Uniswap NFT Aggregator platform resulting in total sales of 1950 and USD volume of ~243K.
• These numbers are very low and represent 10.41%, 17.6% and 11.65% of USD volume, number of sales and number of buyers on the platform respectively.
• Thus a retroactive airdrop by Uniswap has not been successful in boosting activity on the NFT platform.
• On the other hand, Blur’s airdrop model seems to be working (but whether Blur is able to sustain the activity after distribution of token needs to be seen).

• The below charts provide information about number of sales, volume (USD), volume (ETH), number of transactions, number of buyers and number of sellers on the Uniswap NFT Aggregator marketplace.
• From the charts, we can see that all the metrics have peaked within the 1st 2 days and have been declining thereafter with few spikes in between.
• Overall a total of 2140 buyers have purchased ~11.1K NFT’s from 6300 sellers in 3450 transactions resulting in a volume of 2.34M $ (2090 ETH).

• The above charts show the USD volume and number of sales on the Uniswap NFT Aggregator marketplace by platform.
• In terms of both USD volume as well as number of sales, Opensea is the clear leader.
• Looksrare is at number 2 position in terms of USD volume whereas x2y2 is at number 2 position in terms of number of sales.

• The above charts show the top collections in terms of USD volume and number of sales on the Uniswap NFT Aggregator marketplace.
• In terms of USD volume, the top 3 positions are taken by Mutant Ape Yatch Club, Clone X and Bored Ape Kennel Club.
• In terms of number of sales, the top 3 positions are taken by Pups Club (0x24a6ec37ba348084e83b24212f207c8ca1d1a6de), Parallel and Froggy Friends.

• The above charts compare the number of sales and USD volume on the Uniswap NFT Aggregator with other aggregators like Blur and Gem.
• Both in terms of number of sales as well as USD volume, Blur is the clear leader followed by Gem and Uniswap is at the last position.
• Thus Uniswap NFT Aggregator has not been able to gain much traction (yet).

• The below charts compare the eligible and claimed statistics for users and amount first on total basis and then by tier.

Activity by Airdrop Eligible Participants:

Crossover with Uniswap DEX:

• The above charts look at the users on the Uniswap NFT Aggregator platform and see whether they are already using the Uniswap DEX.
• We can see that Almost 1700 buyers (79.3% of the total buyers) have made total purchases of ~8.84K NFT’s (79.6% of total purchases) resulting in a volume of ~1.89M $ (81% of the total volume).

Summary of Findings:

• The activity on Uniswap NFT Aggregator marketpplace has peaked within the 1st 2 days and has been declining thereafter with few spikes in between.
• Overall a total of 2140 buyers have purchased ~11.1K NFT’s from 6300 sellers in 3450 transactions resulting in a volume of 2.34M $ (2090 ETH).
• Opensea is the most popular platform in terms of both number of sales as well as volume.
• Mutant Ape Yatch Club and Pups Club are the most popular collections by volume and number of sales respectively.
• Compared with other aggregators, Uniswap has not been able to gain much traction.
