Price + Circulating Supply
This dashboard attempts to look into the circulating supply of the MATIC tokens in the Polygon network and see its changes with the price of the token.
Introduction
The circulating supply recognizes that tokens may be owned by projects or foundations that have not locked up supply in a formal contract but have no intention of selling down their stakes. As a result, circulating supply excludes known project treasury holdings (which can be significant). When appraising an asset, an investor must take into account both liquid and circulating supplies, which might differ greatly. The disadvantage of relying solely on circulating supply is that the number might fluctuate considerably depending on project treasury discretionary sales.
Methodology
The sum of the balances is accounted for as the circulating supply for all the users having the MATIC token from the Ethereum user balances but certain users are excluded so as to maintain a balance in the circulating supply. The whales who had very high balances are excluded from the query here and then they are aggregated for date and the same date is used to get the MATIC price.
The table that has all the necessary data with the circulating supply calculated and the corresponding price of the MATIC tokens is displayed here.
The circulating supply is charted here with Time and it shows an increase in the price since its beginning and has reached at very high amounts over time.
The price of the MATIC tokens is charted here for the same date where the circulating supply is calculated and it shows peaks and downs alternatively towards the recent days of considered time.
Paragraph
The most ideal and expected chart of circulating supply is displayed here.It shows that there might be some relation between the price and the circulating supply over time as the high supply is when there is less price for the tokens.Furthermore this may not be considered much as this varies when the price of the circulating supply is considered in a stable coin's price and compared with the magic price as the number of tokens can be compensated by the high and low prices of the tokens.
