Polygon Block Performance
What is the average time between blocks on Polygon? What was the maximum and minimum recorded time between two blocks? How many transactions are done in a block on average? How do these numbers compare to L1 such as Flow or Solana, or other L2 such as Arbitrum or Optimism?
Polygon is a layer-2 solution of Ethereum which provides a much lower transactions than Ethereum. The native cryptocurrency of the network is MATIC is used for transactions fees and staking and network governance.
NEAR is an open-source blockchain platform for developing decentralized applications with smart contract functionality. This system can process over 100,000 transactions per second. The NEAR blockchain's community-managed cloud infrastructure can be used to deploy and power the dApps. It's similar to a serverless database because it combines advantages of both traditional database architectures. The NEAR token is essential to the functionality of the NEAR platform and facilitates interoperability between apps built inside the NEAR ecosystem. These features of the NEAR blockchain enable developers to build censorship-proof backends for smart contracts that handle personally identifiable information, assets, and finances, among other types of sensitive data. \n \n Terra is a distributed ledger protocol that enables dependable programmable payments and the growth of an accessible financial system. Luna, the native cryptoasset, acts as an algorithmic stabilizer for a group of stablecoins that are tethered to fiat currency and are designed in the style of seigniorage shares. \n Payments are one of Terra's key contributions since they simplify the complex payments value chain by reducing the number of intermediaries involved to a single blockchain layer. In addition to streamlining the payment process for both businesses and customers, Terra is also slowly establishing the groundwork for a truly neutral, decentralised, and radically transparent ecosystem by providing the requisite infrastructure enhancements and tools.
Avalanche is an open-source platform that allows users to develop decentralised applications and business blockchain deployments within a single ecosystem that is interoperable and highly scalable. Avalanche is the first decentralised smart contracts platform built for the scale of global banking, and it enables transaction finality in a timeframe that is close to instant.
According to the chart, Polygon has more transaction per block on average than other chains like Near, Terra or Avalanche. The number of transaction on average of Polygon is 75 transactions while that number of Terra is 30 transactions and that number of Near is only 6.77 transaction. Avalanche has the lowest number of transaction on average per block with only ~5 transactions.
According to the chart, the maximum time between blocks of Avalanche is 118 seconds, which is very high compared to Near, Polygon or Terra. This number of Near is only 726 seconds, of Polygon is 25 seconds and this number of Terra is 34070 seconds.
Regarding the average time between blocks, the number of Avalanche is 2.06 seconds, the number of Near is 1.18 seconds and the number of Polygon is 2.24 seconds while the number of Terra is 6.66 seconds.
Regarding the minimum time between blocks, the number of Avalanche and Near is 0 second while number of Terra and Polygon is 2 seconds.
